One day, Hanamura is investigating a case when he comes across a young boy who is being chased by a group of men. Hanamura saves the boy and takes him home with him. The boy, who is named Kaito Kuroba, tells Hanamura that he is a magician and that he is being chased by a group of criminals who want to steal his magic tricks. Hanamura agrees to help Kaito and the two of them become friends. Hanamura and Kaito work together to solve many cases. They are always able to find the criminals and bring them to justice. Hanamura is a good detective and a good friend. He is always willing to help others and he is always there for Kaito.
