Race: Noldor
Fingolfin was a great hero of the Noldor, a race of elves who lived in the land of Aman. He was the son of Finwë, High King of the Noldor, and his half-brother was Fëanor, who was a great craftsman and warrior.
When Fëanor stole the Silmarils, three jewels that were very precious to the Noldor, and led his people into exile in Middle-earth, Fingolfin followed him. They traveled across the ice of the Helcaraxë, a dangerous journey that many did not survive.
When they arrived in Middle-earth, Fingolfin challenged Morgoth, the Dark Lord, to battle at the gates of his fortress, Angband. Morgoth refused to come out and fight, so Fingolfin rode back to his people.
Later, Fingolfin's son Fingon rescued Maedhros, Fëanor's son, who had been captured by Morgoth. Maedhros gratefully renounced his claim to kingship, and Fingolfin became High King of the Noldor.
Fingolfin led the Noldor in many battles against Morgoth's forces. He was

The Ulm Sparrow
The Ulm Sparrow is a landmark and symbol of the German city of Ulm. According to legend, the people of Ulm needed a large beam for the construction of Ulm Minster, but they couldn’t get it through the city gate. As they were about to tear the gate down, they noticed a sparrow carrying a straw for its nest. The sparrow turned the straw from crosswise to lengthwise in its beak, and the people of Ulm realized that they could place long loads along rather than across their carts. They were able to enter the city without rebuilding their gate.
This legend has given rise to the Ulm Sparrow Award, which is given to a person who brings forward a seemingly important idea or concept that isn’t at all important, is superfluous, or is rather obvious. The award is generally awarded in jest, but the message is clear: let’s not waste effort on the trivial and non-contributing, let’s focus on what truly matters.

Fëanor
Fëanor was the greatest of the Noldor Elves, and his skill in crafting jewels was unmatched. He created the three Silmarils, the most beautiful jewels in the world, and they became the object of a terrible curse. After Morgoth, the Dark Lord, stole the Silmarils, Fëanor and his seven sons swore an oath to recover them, no matter the cost. They committed terrible atrocities in their quest, and their actions ultimately led to the destruction of Beleriand.
