Yuuichi Ootori is a wealthy second-year student at Ouran High School. He is the younger brother of Tamaki Suoh, the president of the Ouran Host Club. Yuuichi is a shy and introverted boy who does not like to stand out. He is often overshadowed by his older brother, and he feels like he can never live up to his expectations.
One day, Yuuichi is walking home from school when he sees a group of boys harassing a girl. Yuuichi tries to help the girl, but he is outnumbered and overpowered. Just when it seems like the boys are going to hurt the girl, Tamaki arrives and saves the day.
Tamaki takes Yuuichi back to the Ouran Host Club, where he introduces him to the other members. Yuuichi is initially reluctant to join the club, but he eventually agrees. He finds that he enjoys spending time with the other members of the club, and he begins to come out of his shell.
Yuuichi eventually learns to stand up for himself and to be proud of who he is. He also learns to appreciate his brother for who he is, and he comes to understand that he does not need to live up to his expectations.
