Usopp was born in Syrup Village, a small town on the East Blue Sea. His father, Yasopp, was a member of the Red Hair Pirates, led by the legendary pirate Shanks. Usopp idolized his father and dreamed of one day becoming a great pirate himself.
However, Usopp was a coward and was often afraid of things. He would often lie and exaggerate stories to make himself seem braver than he was. This earned him the nickname "Sogeking" (Lies King).
One day, a group of pirates called the Arlong Pirates invaded Syrup Village. They terrorized the villagers and forced them to pay tribute. Usopp's father, Yasopp, was one of the pirates who had been captured by Arlong.
Usopp decided to join the Straw Hat Pirates, a group of pirates led by Monkey D. Luffy, in order to rescue his father. Along the way, Usopp learned to overcome his fears and become a brave warrior. He also became a valuable member of the Straw Hat crew, using his skills as a sniper to help them in their adventures.
