The story begins with a young girl named Snow White who lives with her stepmother and two stepsisters. Her stepmother is a cruel woman who treats Snow White like a servant. One day, the stepmother decides that Snow White is too beautiful and that she must be killed. She orders her huntsman to take Snow White into the forest and kill her.
The huntsman takes Snow White into the forest, but he cannot bring himself to kill her. He tells her to run away and never return. Snow White runs away and finds shelter in a small cottage in the forest. The cottage is owned by seven dwarves who work in a nearby mine.
The dwarves welcome Snow White into their home and take care of her. Snow White soon becomes a part of the family. She cooks and cleans for the dwarves and helps them in the mine.
One day, the stepmother discovers that Snow White is still alive. She disguises herself as an old peddler woman and goes to the cottage. She gives Snow White a poisoned apple and tells her that it is a gift. Snow White takes a bite of the apple and falls into a deep sleep.
The dwarves are heartbroken when they find Snow White. They place her in a glass coffin and keep watch over her
