Eventually, they reached the castle where the curse was being held, and they were able to break it. With the curse broken, Pati was finally free. She thanked Merry for her help, and then she disappeared. Merry never saw her again, but she never forgot her either. She knew that Pati would always be there for her, if she ever needed her.
