Sigurd Sigurd is a prince of Grannvale and the main protagonist of Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. He is the son of King Quan and Queen Eldigan, and the heir to the throne. Sigurd is a skilled warrior and a natural leader, and he is determined to unite the divided kingdoms of Jugdral and bring peace to the land. Sigurd's story begins when he is exiled from Grannvale after his father is killed by King Arvis of Thracia. Sigurd travels to the neighboring kingdom of Leonster, where he meets Princess Deirdre, the daughter of King Azelle. Sigurd and Deirdre fall in love and marry, and they have a son, Seliph. Sigurd and Deirdre's happiness is short-lived, however. Arvis plots to kill Sigurd and take over Grannvale, and he eventually succeeds. Sigurd and Deirdre are killed in battle, and Seliph is left to avenge his parents. Seliph eventually defeats Arvis and unites Jugdral under his rule.
