Dries van Agt Dries van Agt was born in 1932 in the small town of Geldrop, Netherlands. He grew up in a devout Christian family and was always passionate about politics. After completing his studies in law, he began his political career in the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), which later merged with other Christian parties to form the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA).
