Gin was a member of the Black Organization and he offered Touichi Kuroba a deal. He would help Touichi Kuroba escape from prison if Touichi Kuroba would work for the Black Organization. Touichi Kuroba agreed to work for the Black Organization and he was released from prison. He changed his name to Kaito Kid and became a master thief. He used his skills as a magician to steal valuable jewels
