One of his students, Akuma, was particularly talented, but he was also arrogant and ambitious. Goutetsu tried to teach Akuma humility and compassion, but Akuma refused to listen. Eventually, Akuma's arrogance led him to challenge Goutetsu to a fight. Goutetsu was defeated, and Akuma killed him. Goutetsu's death left a deep hole in the hearts of his students, but they vowed to continue his legacy and carry on his teachings.
