He was conceived by the series' creators Matt Groening and David X. Cohen, and is voiced by John DiMaggio. Bender is a foul-mouthed, hard-drinking, cigar-smoking robot who loves to gamble and have sex. He is also extremely prejudiced against humans, even though he has a few human friends, including his best friend Philip J. Fry. Despite his gruff exterior, Bender is also capable of showing compassion and kindness, especially to those he cares about.
