The cat follows him home, and Negiri eventually decides to keep it. He names the cat Futaba, and the two of them quickly become best friends. Futaba helps Negiri to come out of his shell, and he eventually becomes more confident and outgoing. He also starts to make more friends, and he eventually finds a girlfriend. Negiri is very happy with his life, and he is grateful for the friendship of Futaba.
