Robotnik's main enemy is Sonic the Hedgehog, a super-fast Hedgehog who thwarts all his plans of ruling Mobius. Robotnik is also enemies with Miles 'Tails' Prower, a friend of Sonic, who Robotnik has captured multiple times.

Shadow on the Ark Dr. Gerald Robotnik, a renowned scientist and the creator of the Black Arms race, had always been fascinated by the idea of creating the perfect life form. After the fall of the Black Arms, he turned his attention to genetic engineering and began experimenting with various species, including hedgehogs.
