Bernard "Barney" Fife Deputy Barney Fife was a beloved character on The Andy Griffith Show. He was a goofy, lovable character who always got into trouble. He was also a great deputy, always willing to help Andy solve crimes. Barney was a fan favorite and is still remembered fondly by fans today.
