In times of conflict, he is a hot-blooded warrior who is compelled by his emotions over logic. He always stands up for what he believes is right and fights to protect the innocent. Even so, X remains sympathetic for the Mavericks he fights and often tries to reason with them before a fight occurs. X and Zero are allies.

Vile I am X's only rival, people labelled me as a Maverick. I used to be a high class Maverick Hunter in the 17th Elite Unit, but I was imprisoned because of my destructive behavior, and later set free from confinement by Sigma to wreak havoc and challenge X...
