Hanzawa is joined in his investigation by Kei Matoba, a young man who claims to be a psychic. Matoba helps Hanzawa to track down the killer, and they eventually learn that the killer is a demon named Kuro. Kuro is a powerful demon who has been killing people for centuries. He is drawn to people who are lonely and isolated, and he uses his powers to manipulate them into doing his bidding. Hanzawa and Matoba must work together to stop Kuro before he kills again.
