Old Coaly
In 1855, a young mule named Coaly was brought to Pennsylvania from Kentucky. He quickly became a favorite among the workers building the original Old Main building on the campus of the Pennsylvania State University. Coaly was used to haul limestone blocks from a quarry to the construction site, and he worked tirelessly for many years.
Coaly was so beloved by the workers that they preserved his bones after he died in 1893. His skeleton is now on display in the HUB–Robeson Center on campus.
In honor of Old Coaly, there is a food concession called "Coaly's Corner" at Penn State's new baseball stadium, Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. There is also an honorary society for College of Agricultural Sciences students at Penn State named "The Coaly Society."
Coaly's legacy as a beloved Penn State mascot continues to this day.

Construction Worker
The construction worker, with his helmet and grey hair, was a familiar sight to the children of the town. He had been working on the same construction site for as long as they could remember, and he was always there to greet them with a smile and a wave.
One day, the construction worker was working on the site when he heard a loud crash. He ran to the edge of the site and saw that a large tree had fallen, blocking the road. The children were playing in the road, and the construction worker knew that they were in danger.
Without thinking, the construction worker ran into the road and pushed the children out of the way just as the tree fell. The tree landed on the construction worker, crushing him.
The children were safe, but the construction worker was killed. The children were devastated, and they all blamed themselves for his death. They thought that if they had not been playing in the road, the construction worker would not have been killed.
The children's teacher, Jinta, knew that they needed to talk about what had happened, so he organized a meeting at the tree where the construction worker had died. The children all came, and they talked about how they felt.
