His uncle, Richard, Duke of Gloucester, took control of the government and had Edward V and his younger brother, Richard, Duke of York, imprisoned in the Tower of London. It is believed that Richard had Edward V and Richard of York murdered in the Tower of London. Edward of Westminster was never crowned King of England, and his death marked the end of the Plantagenet dynasty. Edward of Westminster was a tragic figure. He was born into a royal family, but he never had the chance to rule. He was murdered at a young age, and his death left England in turmoil.
