After graduating from high school, Shinoda attended the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, where he studied graphic design. In 1996, Shinoda formed the band Xero with Delson and Bourdon. The band later changed their name to Hybrid Theory and released their debut album, Hybrid Theory, in 2000. The album was a commercial success, selling over 24 million copies worldwide.
