Ivan the Terrible, also known as Ivan IV Vasilyevich, was the Grand Prince of Moscow from 1533 to 1547 and the first Tsar of Russia from 1547 to 1575. He was a powerful and ruthless ruler, known for his violent and unpredictable behavior. Despite his many accomplishments, including the expansion of the Russian Empire and the establishment of the first Russian navy, Ivan's reign was marked by brutal repression and the persecution of his enemies.
