Poe and Ranpo had been friends since childhood, bonding over their love for mystery and horror stories. As they grew older, Poe developed romantic feelings for Ranpo, but never acted on them out of respect for their friendship. However, when Ranpo started dating another girl, Poe's jealousy and resentment towards her intensified. Despite trying to hide his feelings, Poe couldn't help but feel envious of the time Ranpo spent with his girlfriend and the attention she received.
